Brother Kevin Scott is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a 27-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department. Brother Scott achieved the rank of Detective in 2000, and has been responsible for investigating violent and property crimes. In 2008, he was assigned as an Investigative Analyst, where he developed intelligence of violent crimes and conducted domestic threat awareness assessments throughout the city of Chicago. Brother Scott currently investigates crimes against children on the far south side of Chicago, including Child Abuse, Child Neglect, Child Abandonment and Child Abduction offenses.
Brother Scott was initiated into the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi on November 6, 1998. He has previously served in various capacities at the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter, including as Senior Vice Polemarch, chairman of several committees and being elected to two offices simultaneously, as Historian and Reporter from 2009-2012. He continues to serve the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter as its Historian.
Additionally, Brother Scott served as the Historian of the North Central Province of Kappa Alpha Psi from 2010-2013. During his tenure, he conducted 2-years of research, which led to the discovery of new information about Founder Paul W. Caine’s burial place, as well as the correct date, location and circumstances of Founder Caine’s death. Brother Scott authored a directive which assists Chapter and Province Historians to collect and preserve Kappa artifacts.
In 2013, Brother Scott was elected as our Fraternity’s 15th Grand Historian and was re-elected in 2015. While serving as Grand Historian, he has created the Kappa Archive Recovery Initiative. The goal of this program is to recover and retain Kappa artifacts for present and future generations of Kappa to study and appreciate. In addition to this and several other initiatives, Brother Scott is currently writing the 6th Edition of The Story of Kappa Alpha Psi.
Brother Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Chicago State University and has recently completed a Master of Organizational Leadership degree program at Lewis University. Brother Scott and his wife, Regina (a member of ΔΣΘ Sorority, Inc.) reside in Chicago with their daughter, Kayla.
